Women's Enterprise

Bes is hugely proud to have been awarded Prowess Flagship award for Start Up Support, which demonstrates our excellence in Women’s Enterprise.

In order for us achieve this status we have demonstrated the following:

• An active and appropriate outreach and targeted marketing programme is in place
• The programme is accessible to women
• The programme is based on good market knowledge and research
• The programme is client focused
• A well promoted, regular programme of business/social enterprise support service is available
• Promotion and celebration of clients’ business/social enterprises
• Some women only provision
• Frontline staff reflect and understand the target group
• In line with government targets, at least 40% of clients are women and the programme supports women from BAME groups proportionate to the local population
• The programme of women's business/social enterprise support is established & sustainable
• The programme assists a significant number of women
• Programmes dependent on partnership to deliver a coherent women-friendly service have influence and control over the quality of partnership services
• The programme offers a coherent, interactive and women-friendly range of business/social enterprise support

As a result of Prowess Flagship, we launched Tuesday Talkshop in January 2009. Tuesday Talkshop is our way of supporting women whether starting up in business, running an established venture of just considering self-employment.
