Start-Up

Working for yourself can be very rewarding. To enable you to plan and develop your idea we have a free step by step programme of support to help you.

The following support services are available across The West Midlands:

• Business Idea Workshops – designed to stimulate your thoughts around viable business ideas
• Self Employment Awareness Workshops – a group awareness session which covers the full range of support available to you, how to access finance and the importance of business planning, including the content and role of the business plan
• Dedicated Workshops – to help you acquire the relevant skills needed to start your own enterprise. Topics cover business planning, financial planning, legal requirements, marketing, selling and personal development
• Mentoring – once your business has started you will receive ongoing mentoring as your business develops. This service will continue for 12 months from the start of your business and can be accessed on a one to one basis, by telephone or through e-mail
