Business Support Professional
The Business Support as a Profession Group (BSAP), which was formed to respond to the issues raised in the Skills White Paper on the quality of business support, created a common standards framework based on the National Occupational Standards for Business Support (2006). This is now known within the business support sector as the SFEDI standards.
This new framework provides the basis for assessing the competence of business advisers and is supported by SFEDI, Investors in People UK, Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) which are responsible for Business Link, and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
Following this key piece of work, BES, working closely with awarding bodies, developed an Assessment and Accreditation Centre, licensed directly by SFEDI. In February 2009 BES had registered and accredited over 300 Business Support Professionals from across the UK who work in the Public, Private and Third sectors.
BES can now offer a full suite of assessments, qualifications, development training and accreditations to organisations or individuals through our tailored or bespoke packages for the following:
- Business Advisers
- Business Mentors
- Social Enterprise Advisers
- Skills Brokers
- Business Trainer
- Enterprise Coaches
BES can also offer training modules designed and mapped to the Business Support Professionals standards.
